4 more sleeps until Christmas!

December 21st, 2018
Penny Hampson
Only four more sleeps until Christmas Day, and I’m nowhere near prepared. It’s not that I’ve been lazy, but a case of too many jobs to fit in a limited time, so this will be a very short post.

I’ve been busy going through the proofs of An Officer’s Vow and it will be sent off for the final proof-read shortly. The cover design is in hand, and with luck and a following wind, Major Nate Crawford’s story will be published in February.

I’ve also been undertaking research on a particular 18th Century lady, who I feel has been given a bit of a raw deal by history. Today she is mostly remembered, if at all, for her scandalous divorce, and involvement in a shady undertaking involving her husband. I’ll keep you guessing about her identity until I have finished my work.

The dining hall at Exeter College

It hasn’t been all work and no play, thank goodness. Last week I was privileged to enjoy a festive lunch in the marvellously imposing dining hall of Exeter College, Oxford. It was a wonderful occasion, preceded by a moving carol service in the College’s beautiful chapel. It was a dull, dreary December day, but the singing really lifted my spirits.

Wishing you all the best for a restful holiday and health and happiness for the coming year.
